Are you homeschooling so your kids learn a Christian worldview? You want to protect them in these crucial formative years, and that’s good. But someday (sooner than we’d like), they will face opposition to the Christian beliefs they learned at home. Will your children be ready? That’s where we can help.
Parent Road Ministries designs devotionals, tools, and curriculum to equip families to live for Christ and answer tough questions about biblical teaching. Here are some resources you may find useful.

“…they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true” (Acts 17:11 NIV).

40 Scriptures to Pray Over Your Children
Eph. 6:18 urges, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” (NIV).
40 Scriptures to Pray Over Your Children equips parents and caregivers with practical prayers for their children.
Divided into four sections, these two- to three-minute prayers touch on the four areas of growth highlighted in Luke 2:52 – wisdom, stature, favor with God, and favor with other people. Each prayer uses a different Scripture as its base, praying the words of the passage along with additional requests stemming from the text.
The Answer Book: A Devotional for Busy Families
This book presents seven weeks’ worth of Bible studies for family members to explore together as they seek answers to the questions that arise in striving to live as Christians.
Adults, who sometimes find children challenging them with hard questions about the Christian life, will find The Answer Book enables them to ask those questions as a family, to listen to God’s word, and to discover its answers. Each weekly section addresses a major topic, including the nature of truth, the reasons for spending time with God, the identity of Jesus, and family discipleship. Each daily devotion shares a brief reflection, suggests a Bible reading, presents an “On the Road” challenge to the family, and calls for a “Weapon Check,” in which one memorizes key scriptural passages.
As you spend time around your children, you may wonder what drives them to ask endlessly, “Why?”. The Answer Book: A Devotional for Busy Families gives you a structured – yet flexible – way to turn small blocks of time (like circle time or basket time) into moments for taking seriously their deep and heartfelt questions. By spending some time together as a family with these questions and with the message God reveals in the Scriptures, you will grow together to trust God more fully, to build your lives on a strong foundation, and to be prepared for life’s coming challenges.
The Answer Book: Small-Group Guide
Based on the same seven-week scope and sequence as The Answer Book: A Devotional for Busy Families, this flexible format is written for larger blocks of time. The devotional is written as a daily study where the small-group guide contains weekly lessons. These multi-level units include music suggestions, crafts, and games in addition to a circle time Bible lesson.
Waiting for Christmas
Waiting for Christmas goes beyond the same old Christmas readings to see why Jesus is unique.
Great for family worship, Bible lesson, kids church, or children’s Sunday school! The three sections of the book provide fun, engaging Bible lessons for preschoolers, children, or preteens.
Also included is Waiting for Christmas: Advent Readings for Corporate Worship. These short family readings allow kids to talk too! Children are given speaking lines each week along with the older members of their family.
Equip the children you love to focus on Christ this Christmas. Learn more here.

“Sermon Notes for Kids” include things to listen for during the sermon and a family action plan. Questions include:
- What is the main Bible passage that Pastor is talking about today?
- Circle the name of the book on this page. Is today’s Bible passage in the Old Testament or the New Testament?
- What is one thing Pastor said about God today?
- What is one thing Pastor said about people today?
- Draw a picture of one thing you hear Pastor say today.
The bottom of the page includes James 1:22 and a Family Action Plan.
New Study Coming Soon: Why Do Bad Things Happen?
The best time to prepare for a disaster is before it strikes. Why Do Bad Things Happen? is a seven-week, daily family Bible study which seeks to answer the question, “How could a good God allow bad things to happen, especially to good people?” Insufficient answers to this question are one of the primary reasons why people walk away from the Christian faith.
The proposed family devotional is not exhaustive. Its purpose is to guide parents and guardians of elementary children to lay a solid groundwork, at an age-appropriate level, to better equip children for when they later encounter disasters and the harsh realities of life. (Note that the examples used in this study are limited to things a typical American elementary-age child may encounter themselves or in the lives of their friends.) Suggestions for further reading are included.
NOTE: This is a working description subject to change in the final publication.
