Video transcript: Hello! Welcome to this month’s tip on how to memorize a verse. It’s Easter, so why don’t we use Easter eggs? I have written out a verse here. I just picked one. I picked Matthew 16:16. It says, “Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’” I wrote that out on my paper here. It’s just a scrap paper of something else that I had. And then I cut up most of it. I’m going to cut out this last one here into little strips that I can mix and match and hide in these eggs. This one is a little long. Well, some of them were long and I just folded them in half. Or you could just put them like this. Then we can hide our eggs. Then, when we find them, we have part of it. Here’s “the Christ.” “The Son.” (I’m going to put these here in my basket.) “Answered.” “Matthew 16:16.” “Simon Peter.” Imagine if you couldn’t find one of these eggs. You’d have to fill in the blank yourself. “You are.” And “of the living God.” Now we have to put them in order. So let’s see. “Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’” (I might even split that one up.) Matthew 16:16. Once you’ve arraigned all your pieces, then you get to do it all over again. Until maybe, one of the eggs might be blank and you’d have to fill in the words yourself. Pretty soon, you’d know the verse inside and out. Happy memorizing! Find out more about this egg
